GirlsFOCUSED

GirlsFOCUSED meets this Saturday, May 14, 11:30 am at North Shore Church, 9776 Gross Point Rd. Skokie , IL. We eat, talk about a variety of topics central to things girls ages 13-18 face in areas of spiritual development, social/emotional health, career and vocational exploration, and health and nutrition, and also perform community service projects. We are not an organization trying to push a particular religious agenda or doctrine, but our foundation is based on the Word of God. We really just want to be an added level of support and a resource to girls, and their families, in this day and age.

Greetings Ladies!! Happy March 2016!

It is looking like winter is coming to a quick end! Our winter wasn't so bad, right!!

So, what has your focus been so far this year? Good friends? Grades? Relationships w/your parents?? Whatever your focus has been till now, remember that God CAN make a difference! With your friends - with your grades, and in your relationships!

When He is in the center of it all, the weight you may feel won't feel so heavy. When He is in the center of it all, you can find joy. When He is in the center of it all, you can find peace - even if there seems to be none!!!! God - in the center of it ALL - makes the difference!!

Many have tried Him and know that what I am saying is true. Not because of something we heard someone else say, but because He has made a difference in our lives!! Amen!!

For 2016, FOCUS on the Word of God as written in the scriptures. They are life-changing, life-giving, and all-consuming of all that hurts and destroys.

God CAN make a difference in YOUR life! He has made one in mine...let Him make one in yours!

What is your FOCUS today?

As we come to the end of another year, I stop and reflect on all that happened from January till now...when I do, I stand amazed! First, I made it! Through everything, day after day, hour after hour, minute after minute, I made it! And because I know that I didn't just make it on my own, I have to first thank God for His keeping power over my life throughout this year. If it had not been for God through Jesus Christ, there really is no telling where I would be...I next thank MyMom for her never-ending love and support in everything...for her wisdom and love for God, family, and people, and for her praying spirit! She loves to pray!! And for my friends...friends till the end no matter time, distance, or position in life...friends!

During this time of the year, we celebrate the birth of Christ into the world. God wrapped in flesh that dwelt among us. I was reminded of this passage of scripture in Isaiah 53, "He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all (vs. 3-6 KJV)."

-He, Jesus, borne our grief - so He carried and transported our grief away so we would not have to carry it...
-He carried our sorrows - again - so we would not have to! But what did we do?? We thought that He was being punished by God for wrongs He had done...nope!! He took those things, He ENDURED those things FOR US!!  What am I trying to get you to see here??? Rejoice!! For the Savior, Jesus Christ, came into the world, born to a virgin, to save us FROM OURSELVES and give us new life in Him!! When we accept that and look towards the Cross, then new life can begin!!

If you have not seen the movie "War Room," it is a must see before it leaves the theaters!! Or if you do miss it, it is a movie you NEED to add to your collection. I certainly will get it!!

It is a powerful movie about the power of prayer. And not just prayer to be praying, but praying the Word of God and the power that can be demonstrated when one prayers IN FAITH - BELIEVING that God CAN DO IT!!

You may ask, why talk about prayer??? Well, I believe that is a very powerful vehicle to relay a message through, so check out this song and know that WE believe, without any doubt, that YOU ARE WORTH FIGHTING FOR!!!!

Greetings Ladies!!! For many, today was the first day of school. Welcome back! Hope it was great!
